The Project

Vala Mar Tale

Seven islands by Toyo Ito, a residential resort that lets the landscape lead.

Back to Home The Project

Vala Mar Tale integrates with the site's original landscape, protecting wetlands and coastal habitats while enhancing ecological connectivity. Residential clusters sit on slightly elevated islands, safeguarded from natural water flows and offering a rare closeness to nature.

Architecture

Vaults, arches & rooftop gardens

Villas and apartments share a language of vaults and arches; rooftop terraces extend the green and invite neighbourly connection. Ground floors unify the islands in stone; upper floors vary in colour and material.

Residencies

Rings around the water

Around thirty villas per island, arranged in a continuous ring, with apartments positioned around them in a unified design that fosters harmony and interaction.

Sustainability

Designed to coexist

A resilient development balancing dynamic wetlands with stable highlands, minimising dependence on traditional infrastructure and fostering coexistence between people and environment.
